2″ Rotary Hammer Bit — SDS‑Max vs. Spline

A 2‑inch rotary hammer bit is available in two connection types: SDS‑Max and Spline. They are NOT interchangeable, so the correct one depends on the shank type of your rotary hammer.

2″ SDS‑Max Rotary Hammer Bit — Heavy‑Duty Concrete Drilling This 2‑inch SDS‑Max rotary hammer bit is designed for deep concrete drilling, demolition openings, and heavy commercial work. Compatible with all SDS‑Max hammers including Hilti TE‑Y, Makita XGT, and Bosch SDS‑Max. Built from high‑alloy steel with carbide cutting edges for maximum durability on Hawaiʻi job sites.

Which One Should You Use?

If your hammer is SDS‑Max:

✔ Use a 2″ SDS‑Max core bit or 2″ SDS‑Max chisel/bit ✔ Compatible with Makita GRH05M, Hilti TE‑Y (SDS‑Max), Bosch SDS‑Max hammers ✔ Most modern 1‑9/16″ to 2″ class rotary hammers use SDS‑Max

If your hammer is Spline:

✔ Use a 2″ Spline‑shank bit ✔ Only fits older heavy‑duty spline‑drive hammers ✔ Spline is becoming rare — most manufacturers have moved to SDS‑Max

Quick Identification Guide
